THE PYRAMID HILL of S. Agata dei Goti
An Italian gentleman, Mr. Leonardo B. Romano from S.Agata de Goti, a town near Naples, has recently watched the documentary movie about the Bosnian Pyramids on Italian TV. It hit him like lightning that he had an identical view from the balcony of his house, a pyramid like hill covered by grass with pointed edges and a square base.
He always was wondering what this strangely shaped hill was, but never thought of doing research. “What is in front of your eyes every day, is of no special interest after some time”, he says. But after having seen the Bosnian Pyramid documentary he was convinced that his town of Santa Agata dei Goti had a pyramidal structure under one of the hills.
What convinced him even more were the pictures of the stone balls in Zavidovići in Bosnia.
As a retired land surveyer he had seen many plots and knew the landscape very well. He remembered having seen those stone balls in people's gardens and started research a couple of months ago.
He has now collected data for his hypothesis that there is a colossal pyramidal structure hiding under the S.Agata hill. A network of tunnels seems to connect the city and the hill and numerous stone balls of 40 -100 cm diameter have some yet unknown connection with both.

Sensational discovery made in 2007
The oldest traces of man, 350.000 years old and belonging to homo erectus, have been found imprinted in volcanic ashes near Caserta (10 km north-west of S. Agata), called the "devil's footprints".

S. Agata Tunnels
15 years ago the methan gas pipeline was built in S. Agata. During the excavations for the tank a tunnel entrance was found, dug into the black tuffo stone and leading to the pyramid hill. It is said to be 2 m under ground, 600 - 800 m long, 80 cm high and 50 cm wide, paved with stone slabs. Because of the relative small dimensions this tunnel could not be explored. So the brothers Russo had a brilliant idea. A cat and a dog were sent in. The cat disappeared, the dog came back after 2 hours. (source:Leonardo B. Romano, S. Agata leonpoeta@libero.it).
Tunnel entrance no.2 was found at the same time right at the building site of the methan gas pumping station in Faggiano. It was 10 m under ground and went to the pyramid hill which is about 400 m distant by aireal view. Its dimensions: height 1,65 x width 1m, cement like floor. The tunnel was about 1 km long, first descending, later blocked and changing direction. They could not walk any further but encountered an air ventilation shaft. The tunnel entrances are not accessible at the moment due to dense vegetation and private property of the gas company. http://hosted.filefront.com/digdug72

MYSTERIOUS STONE BALLS in S. AGATA DE GOTI
The legend of the 3 stone balls
An old legend is told in S.Agata. "If you find 1 stone sphere in the soil you have to look for the 2 others, because there are hidden 3 stone balls. In the middle of those 3 you will find a treasure."
We checked the locations where stone spheres were found: Dugenta-Moiano-Sta.M.Vicolo
The triangle forms a perfect geometric shape and its centre is S. Agata de Goti. COINCIDENCE?

Stone balls can be found all over the world. They come in all shapes and all sizes, from perfect sphere shape to egg like, weighing up to 16 tons. Their age and source is still enigmatic, although geologists can explain the composition of some of the stone balls.
In S. Agata vicinity Mr. Romano found about 10 locations, where the owners had put stone spheres into their private gardens. The largest sphere he found in Razzano, 120cm diameter. Mr. Romano has documented all spheres with size, location, composition. On Nov. 11,2008 he has launched a public call for stone balls, hoping some more owners will reveill their well kept secret.
During my visit to S. Agata pyramid, I had the pleasure to be invited into private homes of locals. In Casa Mauriello, a romantic Bed+Breakfast place I was shown one more stone sphere of remarkable size. Also in the contrada of Bosco Cupo there are stone spheres (70 cm diameter) in private gardens.
A big surprise was waiting for me in Napels' Royal Castle: at least 100 perfectly shaped stone balls are stored there in the courtyard and next to the fortification walls. Piled up in a stack of 3, theses spheres are grey or white, 40-60 cm diameter, some very time-worn with incisions and cuts, some perfectly polished like marbles.
Have they been used as catapult ammunition? weighing 100-200 kg? Where is the catapult? Not one in sight!

S. Agata-Moiano Cairn
A conical hill with perfect geometric shape, between S. Agata and Moiano, gives the impression of being a tumulus or cairn (= a mound as monument or landmark). Its base seems to be built from clay or rammed earth. Terraces are ascending to the pointed top.(all fotos and google earth overlay G.Lukacs)

PYRAMID-HILL & STONE BALLS DISCOVERED IN ITALY
Personal report of the field excursion by Gabriela Lukacs November 2008
The story was first reported by Mr.Leonardo B. Romano from S. Agata. An Italian magazine published his text and fotos in Oct.2008. Gabriela Lukacs got in contact with sig. Romano in Santa Agata dei Goti. She visited the location Nov.5-10 2008 and was able to verify the existence of the alleged pyramid and the stone balls.

Santa Agata de Goti: 40 km NE of Naples/Italy
Coordinates: 41°05`51N/14°31`22E
DIRECTIONS: 1 hour drive from Naples towards Benevento
A pyramid shaped hill with distinct edges and pin point top can be seen from S.Agata town. Best view from the restaurant terrace of "Finestra Catalana".
Pyramid hill: elevation 348 m, height approx. 80-100 m, orientation to the cardinal points, distance 1,5 km from S. Agata direction NE
Vegetation: Olive trees grow on terraces built from dry stone walls. The terraces extend up to the top of the hill on its town facing side.
Access: No street or pathway is leading to the top. A footpath follows the 17th century aqueduct bringing water from Mt. Taburno to the Caserta royal castle. The water tower marks the edge of the pyramid hill.
Excavations: Nothing is known so far, no excavations ever made at the hill.
The area is inhabited since prehistoric times. An ancient city, Saticula, mentioned by Homer, is said to have existed in the area of S. Agata in 343 B.C. Current construction works for the Superstrada to Benevento have brought to light prehistoric tombs and pottery.
Devil's footprints: A sensational discovery was made in 2007 near S.Agata: the oldest footprints of man (homo erectus) in vulcanic ash.
Tunnels: An extensive underground tunnel complex is reported by local people. Stretching between S.Agata town and the pyramid hill. It was detected during the gas pipe construction works 15 years ago.
Stone spheres: mysterious stone balls are found in the area of S. Agata since generations. They can be admired in private homes and gardens.
Conical hill: There is a perfect conical hill in the village of Moiano, next to S.Agata, in viewing distance from the pyramid hill. It seems to be a tumulus or cairn.
